GENERAL NOTE:
Luther BEAR was the telegraph operator in the Stapleton Station. That is how he and Ruth met. when they married, Tom,Ruth's father, gave them a tract of land about 1-2 acres in which to build a house. That land was located behind the Morcom house in Stapleton on the next hill. Luther was later transfered to Lynchburg and they sold their house to Thomas E. Jr. and moved to a house on Memorial Ave in Lynchburg.
