He was an Imperial Pensioner. "10 a[?annum?] pensioner"..Death was recorded in the Sydney Morning Herald of 20 April 1914. SAmuel died "at Sydney, late of Forest Lodge" Age at death: 78

20Apr1914 in Rookwood C. of E. Cemetery NSW AUS. Undertaker was Walter CARTER. J.A.BEATTIE, Senr. Med. Supt., Liverpool Asylum certified that Samuel died of carcinoma of the face. He had been in hospital since 1st January 1914. The burial service was conducted by John O'Conor, a C. of E. minister.

Immigration Note: His 1914 death certificate says that Samuel had been 49 years in NSW and 8 years in other States which suggests that he arrived in Australia c.1857. He came from Devon where he does not appear in the 1861 census.
