Residence Note:
After her husband's death in 1885, Elizabeth lived with her children, the last ten years remaining almost constantly with her daughter Mrs John RITCHIE at Banner or Wheatlands township [Two obituaries differ as to which township she died in]

GENERAL NOTE:
According to a newspaper obituary when Elizabeth died in 1915 she had had eleven children born to her, seven sons and four daughters. She had 26 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The obituary was headed "HAS GONE TO HER REWARD Pioneer Resident Passes Away at Ripe Old Age" and states that "she was a life-long Christian, a member of the M.E church for a great many years. She was a church militant and died trusting in her God and has gone to the Church Triumphant."A second obituary headed "DECKERVILLE" says that she "was probably the oldest inhabitant of this vicinity" and was "bright and active until the time of her final illness".This obituary differs in some details from the first: Elizabeth "came to America with her parents and two other children when but eight years of age. The father was taken ill on the voyage, died and was buried at sea. The mother with the three children continued the voyage and made their home in Canada." This account says she was survived by 4 sons and three daughters.
