Broken Hill's "Silver Age" newspaper reported on 4 Feb 1891, page 2, column C, that Thomas died "at his brother's residence South Broken Hill on Feb 4th 1891". Buried from his own home nr Torrington's Dam.Age at death: 32

The Ref.57 is the same as for his parents Richard & Ann. It was common for Cornish miners who died overseas to be remembered on family gravestones in Cornwall.Johnson, the youngest brother of Thomas and Charles is commemorated on a memorial stone in Leekside Memorial Chapel. He died in 1897 in the Transvaal.
