GENERAL NOTE:
NB: It is speculative whether he is the father of Lucy, Amelia, Jane and William SCOURICK but there were only c.1000 Cornish people in Dodgeville c. 1850 and this is a very rare name. John is the only SCOURICK or SCOWRICK in the Cornish-American Connection's database of emigrants, and there are no entries under this name in the 1871 census of Cornwall or the 1881 British census. A John SCOURICK (TRESCOURICK) paid a $130 debt of John MORCOM's after his death.The on-line Wisconsin Marriage Index pre-1907 has a dubious entry: Walter SCOURICK married in Iowa Co. 5 Sept. 1806. In view of the history of settlement in Wisconsin, I suspect that Walter, a descendant rather than ancestor, of John SCOURICK married in 1906, not 1806.
